For a given gravitational acceleration g and a given coefficient of friction mu somewhere between 0 and the maximum coefficient of static friction mu_s, (initial speed)^2=2*mu*g*d_s where d_b is the braking distance. How do you reconcile the fact that 55^2/70 differs substantially from 20^2/25? "
